The area

West Norfolk, properly

The PE31 postcode sits between the Wash coastline and the Sandringham estate. Salt marsh, big skies, market towns, and almost no one else. The kind of place that takes a bit of finding.

Snettisham
Village with a proper pub (the Rose & Crown), a good cafe (the Old Store), and direct access to the RSPB reserve — one of the best wader spectacles in the country.
The coast
Heacham and Hunstanton are minutes away. Snettisham beach is a ten-minute walk across the marsh. Quiet, tidal, and completely different from the south coast.
Sandringham & beyond
Sandringham Estate is four miles from Snettisham. Burnham Market and the north Norfolk coast are thirty minutes. Good walking, cycling, and driving country.
